Awning fitment
What awning fits a Renault Trafic / Vivaro / NV300 / Primastar / Talento (2015 on)?
The 2015-onwards Renault Trafic takes the wall-mounted Fiamma F45S — there is no roof-mounted F80S for this platform, the roof sits too low. The short wheelbase takes a 230cm and the long wheelbase a 260cm, both on Fiamma kit 98655Z021. The same answer covers the Vauxhall Vivaro (up to 2019), Nissan NV300, Nissan Primastar (2022 on) and Fiat Talento, because under the badges they are the same van.
Renault Trafic awning sizes by wheelbase
| Wheelbase | Awning (wall-mounted) | With a roof rack (wall-mounted F45S) |
|---|---|---|
| SWB | Fiamma F45S 230cm →bracket 98655Z021 | Fiamma F45S 230cm → |
| LWB | Fiamma F45S 260cm →bracket 98655Z021 | Fiamma F45S 260cm → |
Sizes are the fit for each wheelbase. The awning length is set by the van's side run, so the roof-mounted and wall-mounted awnings take the same size for the same van. Aero roof bars need a bracket matched to your bars.
One van, five badges
From 2014/2015 the Trafic was sold as the Renault Trafic, the Vauxhall (and Opel) Vivaro, the Nissan NV300, and the Fiat Talento — and from 2022 the NV300 was renamed Nissan Primastar. Same body, same roofline, same fixing points, so Fiamma make one mounting kit for all of them: 98655Z021. If your van wears any of those badges from the 2015-on shape, this page is your answer.
The Vivaro cut-off matters
One trap to know about: in 2019 the Vauxhall Vivaro moved onto a completely different platform (it became a twin of the Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert), so a 2019-onwards Vivaro does not take the Trafic kit. If your Vivaro is 2019 or newer, send us a photo of the roofline and the year and we will confirm the right kit for it instead.
What size takes a Trafic?
The awning length follows the wheelbase: 230cm on the short wheelbase and 260cm on the long wheelbase. Those are Fiamma’s published fitments for this kit, not estimates, and both lengths are stocked in Polar White and Deep Black cases.
Fitting is a drilled installation
Straight answer: this kit fixes at the roof edge with drilled, sealed fixings. That is Fiamma’s specified installation for the platform, and sealed properly it stays watertight for the life of the van. It is an afternoon’s work for a methodical self-builder, or a couple of hours for a local installer. If yours is a high-roof van, or you are not sure, send us a photo before buying anything.
Why no F80S?
Fiamma make no F80S roof kit for the Trafic platform — the roof sits too low for the roof-mounted awning to clear properly. The wall-mounted F45S is not the fallback, it is the awning designed for medium vans like this one, and it is the one Fiamma catalogue for it.
Roof rack fitted?
With a roof rack or bars on the van, the awning clamps to your bars with a Fiamma adapter instead of the wall kit. The Fit Finder below asks about the rack and the bar shape and routes you to the right adapter.

Common questions
How does the Fiamma F45S mount?
The F45S is wall / side-mounted: it fixes to the body panel down the side of the van (or onto a roof rack with the right adapter feet). Because it screws into the side wall rather than the roof, it fits almost any flat-sided van, which is why it is the go-to awning for the VW Transporter and smaller campers.
What is the difference between the F45S and the F80S?
The F45S is wall/side-mounted and the F80S is roof-mounted. The F45S fits almost any van and is easier to reach on very tall roofs; the F80S sits low-profile above door height and suits high-roof panel vans (Sprinter, Crafter, Ducato) with no clean side-wall fixing line. Choose on where your van takes the fixing, not just its length.
Do I need a bracket kit for the F45S?
On most flat-sided vans the F45S fixes directly to the side wall with the supplied brackets, so no separate van-specific kit is needed. If you are mounting to a roof rack or an awkward panel you may need Fiamma adapter feet; tell us your van and roof setup and we will confirm what it takes before you order.
Is the F45S manual or electric?
It comes with a hand crank for manual wind-out. It is the classic, proven Fiamma side awning, simple to operate and quick to set up.
Renault Trafic awning FAQs
What size awning does a Renault Trafic take?
By wheelbase: the SWB takes a 230cm Fiamma F45S and the LWB a 260cm, both wall-mounted on kit 98655Z021. There is no roof-mounted F80S for the Trafic platform.
What awning fits a Vauxhall Vivaro?
A Vivaro up to 2019 is the same van as the Renault Trafic and takes the same wall-mounted F45S on kit 98655Z021 (SWB 230cm, LWB 260cm). The 2019-onwards Vivaro is a different platform and takes a different kit — send us a photo and we will confirm it.
What awning fits a Nissan NV300 or Primastar?
The NV300 (2016-21) and the 2022-on Primastar are the Trafic platform under Nissan badges, so they take the wall-mounted F45S on kit 98655Z021 — 230cm SWB, 260cm LWB.
What awning fits a Fiat Talento?
The Talento (2016-20) is the Trafic platform under a Fiat badge: the wall-mounted F45S on kit 98655Z021, 230cm for the SWB and 260cm for the LWB.
Does fitting a Trafic awning involve drilling?
Yes. Kit 98655Z021 fixes at the roof edge with drilled, sealed fixings — that is Fiamma’s specified installation, and done properly it stays watertight. A local installer will do the whole job in a couple of hours if you would rather not drill your own van.
What about a pre-2015 Trafic, Vivaro or Primastar?
Before 2015 it is the previous-shape van with different fixings, so we confirm those by hand — send us a photo of the roofline and the year and we will come back with the right kit.
