Awning fitment
What awning fits a MAN TGE?

The MAN TGE shares its platform with the VW Crafter, so it takes the same awning: the roof-mounted Fiamma F80S on the UK RHD bracket, or the wall-mounted F45S if a roof rack is fitted. Sizes are by wheelbase below.

Have you got a roof rack fitted?
An aftermarket roof rack or roof bars, the kind you'd carry gear or a board on. It changes which awning mounts to your van.
MAN TGE awning sizes by wheelbase
| Wheelbase | No roof rack (roof-mounted F80S) | With a roof rack (wall-mounted F45S) |
|---|---|---|
| MWB | Fiamma F80S 320cm →on the van-specific roof bracket | Fiamma F45S 325cm → |
| LWB | Fiamma F80S 400cm →on the van-specific roof bracket | Fiamma F45S 400cm → |
| XLWB | Fiamma F80S 450cm →on the van-specific roof bracket | Fiamma F45S 450cm →size confirmed before you pay |
Sizes are the fit for each wheelbase. The awning length is set by the van's side run, so the roof-mounted and wall-mounted awnings take the same size for the same van. Aero roof bars need a bracket matched to your bars.
The TGE is a Crafter with a different badge
There is no polite way to dress this up, and no need to: the MAN TGE and the 2017-onwards VW Crafter are the same van. Same body, same roofline, same fixing points, built down the same line in Poland. That matters when you are shopping for an awning, because it means anything specified for a Crafter II is specified for your TGE, and you can stop hunting for TGE-specific parts that do not exist as a separate thing.
It also means you are not stuck with the thin end of the parts catalogue. Awning fitment for the Crafter is well documented, so your TGE inherits all of it.
What size for which wheelbase
The awning length follows the body length, not the roof. The MWB takes a 320cm, the LWB a 400cm, and the long XLWB body takes the full 450cm. If you have a roof rack and end up on the wall-mounted F45S instead, the equivalents are 325cm, 400cm and 450cm.
The rule behind those numbers is simple: the awning case must not hang past the back of the van, or you cannot open your rear doors properly and the case is exposed every time you reverse up to something. When in doubt, going one size down costs you a little shade and saves you a lot of grief.
Roof rack fitted? That changes everything
A rack is the single biggest fork in the road. With a bare roof you are on the roof-mounted F80S. With a rack already up there, the roof-mounted option is out and you go to the wall-mounted F45S, which clamps to your bars instead of the van, so nothing new goes into the bodywork.
The catch is bar shape. Square or round bars around 50mm take the standard clamp adapters, and the bar needs to stick out past the clamp by at least 25mm so the winding handle clears. Aero or oval bars need a bracket made for those specific bars, usually from whoever made your rack. If your rack already has awning mounts built into it, the awning bolts straight on and you need no adapter at all.
The super-high roof is a different answer
On the tallest factory roof there is no roof-mounted bracket, and honestly you would not want one: the awning would sit so high you would need a stepladder to wind it out. The answer there is a roof rack with the wall-mounted F45S fixed to it, which brings the whole thing back down to a height you can actually reach.
About the Fiamma F80S
The roof-mounted, low-profile Fiamma. It sits above door height and suits high-roof panel vans (Sprinter, Crafter, Ducato) with no clean side-wall fixing line. Sizes 290 to 450cm in Polar White, Titanium or Deep Black. Royal Grey or Royal Blue canopy (Deep Black is Royal Grey only). It needs a van-specific bracket kit, which the Fit Finder has already matched for you above.

Common questions
Do I need a bracket kit for a Fiamma F80S?
Yes, always. The F80S does not fit any van without a van-specific bracket kit, bought separately. The Fit Finder has confirmed the exact part for your van above.
Can I fit a Fiamma F80S myself?
Yes, if you are a confident self-builder, but it is a two-person job to lift the awning onto the roof, and any roof drilling must be sealed properly. If you are not sure about the roof fixing, use an installer.
What is the difference between the F80S and the F45?
The F80S is roof-mounted; the F45 range is wall-mounted. Roof mounting suits vans with no clean side-wall fixing line and places the awning above door height.
Is the F80S manual or electric?
It comes with a hand crank for manual wind-out. Fiamma sells an optional electric motor kit that can be added later, and the awning is ready for optional LED lighting on the lead bar and rear casing.
MAN TGE awning FAQs
What awning fits a MAN TGE?
The same as a VW Crafter: the roof-mounted Fiamma F80S on the right-hand-drive bracket, or the wall-mounted F45S on a roof rack. MWB 320cm, LWB 400cm, XLWB 450cm.
Does the MAN TGE use Crafter awning brackets?
Yes. The TGE and the 2017-on Crafter are the same van under the badge, so they use the same Fiamma bracket kits and the same sizes.
What size awning does a MAN TGE take?
By body length: MWB 320cm, LWB 400cm, XLWB 450cm on the roof-mounted F80S. On a roof rack with the wall-mounted F45S it is 325cm, 400cm and 450cm.
Can I fit an awning to a TGE with a roof rack?
Yes, and it is straightforward. The wall-mounted F45S clamps to your bars rather than the van. Square or round bars around 50mm take the standard adapters; aero bars need a bracket matched to your rack. Send us a photo of your bars if you are unsure.
What about a super-high-roof TGE?
There is no roof-mounted bracket for the tallest roof, and it would sit too high to use comfortably anyway. Fit a roof rack and the wall-mounted F45S mounts to that instead.
What size awning fits a MWB MAN TGE?
A MWB MAN TGE takes a 320cm awning: the roof-mounted Fiamma F80S 320cm with no roof rack, or the wall-mounted Fiamma F45S 325cm if a roof rack is fitted. The Fit Finder on this page confirms the exact bracket kit for your roof.
What size awning fits a LWB MAN TGE?
A LWB MAN TGE takes a 400cm awning: the roof-mounted Fiamma F80S 400cm with no roof rack, or the wall-mounted Fiamma F45S 400cm if a roof rack is fitted. The Fit Finder on this page confirms the exact bracket kit for your roof.
What size awning fits a XLWB MAN TGE?
A XLWB MAN TGE takes a 450cm awning: the roof-mounted Fiamma F80S 450cm with no roof rack, or the wall-mounted Fiamma F45S 450cm if a roof rack is fitted. The Fit Finder on this page confirms the exact bracket kit for your roof.
