What it runs (calculated)

Compressor fridge (60W while running)32 hrs
LED lighting (10W)190 hrs
Laptop charging (65W)29 hrs
Induction hob (1800W)1.1 hrs

Usable battery capacity 1,900Wh (Clayton manual). Hours = capacity divided by draw, at continuous load. A fridge cycles on and off, so real-world fridge time is longer. A standard UK 3kW kettle exceeds the continuous rating of both units, use a low-wattage one.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in the package?

Each deal includes the Clayton Power LPS II unit, the LPS II remote control, and a mounting bracket.

How does it charge?

Three ways, and you can combine them: from the vehicle alternator while driving (add the DC-DC Super Charger to roughly double the speed), from a mains hook-up via the built-in intelligent charger, and from solar via the 400W MPPT controller.

How long will the battery last?

The built-in lithium battery is rated for around 2,000 charge cycles, typically about 10 years of use. It is integrated for compactness, so it is not user-replaceable.

What can it run, and for how long?

It powers 230V appliances through a pure sine-wave inverter. As a rough guide, 1 kWh runs a 1000W appliance for an hour, 500W for two hours, or 250W for four. The 2500 has a 1 kWh battery; the 3000 has 2 kWh.

2500 or 3000, which do I need?

The 2500 (1 kWh, 2500W) suits laptops, lights, a fridge and lighter cooking. The 3000 (2 kWh, 3000W) is for heavier or longer off-grid use such as induction hobs, hairdryers or power tools. Not sure? Contact us and we will help you size it.

Can you fit it, or can I fit it myself?

We can supply and fit it as part of a VANZ conversion, or supply it for a confident self-builder. Ask us about the matching wiring kit for your van.

Delivery and warranty?

Free UK delivery, typically 2 to 3 working days. Clayton Power systems come with a 2-year warranty.
